I'm not sure if I'm getting old, but the world of beauty pageants seems to have become more and more ridiculous over the years. I mean, what's next? A swimsuit competition where the contestants are judged solely on their ability to hold their breath? Or a talent show where the only talent is being able to cry on cue? It's just too much, and I'm not even kidding. But then I grew up and realized that being a beauty queen isn't all it's cracked up to be. But no, instead we get pageants that are more concerned with selling us products and perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards. It's just so...lazy. And don't even get me started on the fact that most of these girls are just using the pageant as a stepping stone to fame and fortune. I mean, I'm all for ambition, but at least have the decency to be honest about it.
