Exploring the Carnevale in Little Nightmares 3 is a wild, sprawling ride. When you approach the drawer, the Nome scampers away into the stuffing of a couch. Run over to the couch and interact with it; again, the Nome escapes. The next step is the tricky part. Look up to your left for a shelf with a bottle on it. You’ll need to use your character’s ability (with Alone) to shoot that bottle. Once it shatters, the startled Nome will pull down a ladder. Climb up and crawl through the tunnel to land in a long hallway.

Turn away from the camera and head deeper into the corridor. There’s a room on the right – enter it and you’ll see the Nome waiting. But before you can hug it, you need to help it out. Inside the room, spot the button on the wall and smash it to turn on a furnace. This gives you a battery as an extra reward. Now the Nome is finally ready for a hug. Walk up and embrace it, and you’ve got your first fluffy friend!

Nome #2: Keep Your Eyes Open in the Dark 🌑

Soon after you activate the massive elevator, the two protagonists will find themselves in a pitch-black room with a huge circular floor. This spot can be disorienting, but that’s your cue to use the flashlight. Shine the beam to the left, and there it is – a little Nome huddled against the wall. No puzzles here; just walk over and hug it. Easy! Even so, I missed this one on my first run because I didn’t shine the light far enough left. Listen for its soft chirps.

Nome #3: The Button Puzzle Runner 🔘

From the dark room, head to the right until you reach the infamous button puzzle (you know the one with all those floor panels you have to step on in the correct order). Solving it is a classic Little Nightmares brain-teaser, but once you get it right, a terrified Nome will dart out from somewhere behind the machinery and sprint back toward the dark room.

That’s your signal to follow it. Return to the circular room, and now look in the upper-right corner – the Nome is hiding there, probably still shaking from the noise you made. Walk up and give it a hug. No need to chase it further; it’s ready to be rescued.

Nome #4: Behind the Bathtub 🛁

A bit later in the chapter, you’ll find yourself climbing bottle racks and swinging a hanging bathtub to reach a higher platform. This is the area with the unusual vertical playground. After you’ve shimmied up the bathtub, you’ll land on a platform. Before you go left (which is the main path), take a moment to explore to the right. Crouch down and look for a small crack in the wall – it’s easy to miss if you’re rushing.

Squeeze through the crack and you’ll enter a tiny room with a creepy doll and a closed drawer. Interact with the drawer to slide it open, and a Nome will pop out and bolt outside. Follow it quickly – it’ll run to the room on the left. Inside that room, you can finally corner it and give it a well-deserved hug.

Nome #5: Light Up a Scared Friend 💡

After you’ve worked together with your AI or co-op partner to unlock a heavy door, you’ll descend a set of stairs to the left. At the bottom, look for a button high up on the wall. Shoot it with a ranged attack (again using Alone’s ability). This will turn on a light and – surprise – a Nome had been sitting right there in the dark! It’ll get spooked and run off. Don’t worry, you haven’t lost it. Leave the room and enter the one directly to the left. Look in the lower left corner, and you’ll see the same Nome trembling. That’s the one you scared away. Hug it to make amends.

Nome #6: The Piano Secret 🎹

Last but not least, after you’ve dealt with Nome #5, go back to the corridor and enter the room on the right. Inside, you’ll find a piano. Climb onto the keys and start running back and forth across them a few times. It might look silly, but a hidden door will eventually creak open, and a Nome will emerge from behind it. Circle around the back of the piano, and you’ll find the little guy waiting for a hug. This is one of my favorite moments – it feels so rewarding to stumble upon this secret room just by making noise!

Once you’ve hugged all six, the “Home Sweet Nome” achievement should pop immediately. I love how this side quest adds so much charm to an already eerie carnival. Plus, those little ghastly grins they make when you hold them – pure nightmare fuel, in the best way.

I really recommend using this guide as you play rather than backtracking later; the Carnevale’s layout can get confusing if you’re trying to retrace your steps.
