Swallow Your Pride and Lower the Difficulty

Look, we all want to test our skills on Hall of Fame or Legend difficulty eventually. But if your sole goal right now is pure, unadulterated XP and attribute gains, you need to swallow your pride and crank that difficulty all the way down to Beginner.

Why? Because RTTS progression relies heavily on in-game success. On Beginner, the CPU serves up meatballs down the middle of the plate, and pitchers throw strikes with absurd predictability. If you want to take it a step further, head into the main menu and tweak the Amateur or Minors gameplay sliders to favor the user. Boosting your human sliders means more home runs, more strikeouts, and rapid stat progression. You’ll maximize your success rate per at-bat, which translates directly to faster upgrades.

Hyper-Focus on RTTS Program Tasks

Your player’s growth is tied directly to your Archetype Program. If you aren't regularly checking your program missions, you're leaving massive chunks of progression on the table.

Open up your player card and look at the Archetype Program tasks. You want to focus heavily on the repeatable stat missions. These are things like "Get 30 Extra-Base Hits" or "Record 20 Strikeouts." Target these specific milestones during your games. If you know you need five more extra-base hits to clear a massive program reward tier, sell out for power. Prioritize extra-base hits, runs, and strikeouts, as these move the needle the fastest.

Optimize Your Loadout (Don't Sleep on the Market)

Base attributes will only get you so far. To truly break the game, you need to optimize your loadout with the best gear and perks available.

• Hit the Community Market: Don't just rely on the random packs the game gives you. Save up some Stubs and head to the Community Market to buy high-tier equipment like diamond-level gloves, bats, sleeves, and cleats. The stat boosts from these items are permanent as long as they are equipped.

• Slot the Right Perks: As you level up your program, you’ll unlock Perks. Don't just auto-equip whatever looks cool. Match your perks to your archetype. If you are a power hitter, stack Power and Contact boosts. If you're a pitcher, go all-in on Velocity and Break.

Master the Sim-Hitting/Pitching Method

If you are playing every single pitch, fielding opportunity, and baserunning sequence, a single RTTS game can take 10 to 15 minutes. That is way too slow for a fast upgrade grind.

Instead, change your mode settings to simulate all defensive and baserunning appearances. When you enter a game, you should only be stepping up to the plate to hit or standing on the mound to pitch. By cutting out the fluff of watching your teammates hit or jogging around the bases on a teammate's single, you can cut your game times down to under two minutes. You get all the statistical rewards in a fraction of the time.

Take Your Ballplayer into Diamond Dynasty

A lot of players don't realize that your RTTS ballplayer isn't locked into the single-player career mode. You can actually bring your created player right into Diamond Dynasty, and the stats you accumulate there will still count toward your player program.

If you get bored of playing the standard schedule, take your player into Mini Seasons or play casual Extended Play games against the CPU in Diamond Dynasty. Playing against a low-difficulty CPU in these modes allows you to rack up stats incredibly fast while earning Diamond Dynasty rewards and packs on the side. It’s the ultimate win-win for multitasking your grind.
